Getting creative with antiques

The third weekly challenge was simply to go to Cardiff museum and take photos of many different items that looked interesting to me and then turn those items in to characters somehow. Again, this challenge pushed my limits and made me think outside the box, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
These are some of the first sketches I did from the museum, most being Roman artifacts.

These flower-like shapes came from an odd sculpture that I found in the fine art exhibition.

These two were based on two seperate sculptures that I really liked. Their shapes were very interesting and I knew I could make unique characters using them.

These pasrticular sketches were based on things such as boxes, teapots and sculptures that I found.

More teapots and sculptures. I just really like teapots and the shapes they're made up of!

After exploring a lot and not finding anything that really stuck out to me I came across this giant vase out on one of the balconies. I instantly knew I could use the unique shape and beautiful colours to create a character, so that's exactly what I did!

After a lot of planning I finally created the peacock character based on the vase and I really love how this design turned out!
